When is Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday?
Sales tax holiday weekend is on August 10th & 11th. As we are not open on Sundays, we will process any Sales Tax Holiday purchases on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Does my order qualify for sales tax exemption?
1. The sales tax holiday (STH) applies to eligible retail items bought for personal use by individuals. Purchases by businesses or by individuals for business DO NOT qualify.
2. All products sold by Corner Cabinet are eligible for sales tax exemption.
3. Each individual item on your order (each single cabinet, each individual saleable item, etc.) must be less than $2500.00 to qualify.
What if I spend more than $2500 on a single item?
If you spend more than $2,500 on a single item, the entire amount paid for that item is subject to sales tax, not just the amount that exceeds that threshold.
Are there limitations?
Yes. The sales tax holiday exemption is limited to eligible sales of items costing $2,500 or less and all items must be paid for in full on those specific days. Again, each individual item on your order (each single cabinet, each individual saleable item, etc.) must be less than $2500.00 to qualify.
Do I need to take immediate possession of my purchase?
No. If you pay for the item in full on the sales tax holiday weekend, we can order your items at a later date.
What about items I pay a deposit on STH Weekend?
A deposit is not a sale and therefore not considered a sale by the state and therefore does not qualify for the sales tax holiday exemption.
What about items I’ve order from you already but owe a balance on?
No. The state is very clear that you may not cancel a prior purchase and rebook the purchase on sales tax holiday to avoid sales tax if you already put down a deposit on it or prepaid for it.
What happens if I change my mind before my order is placed but once the sales tax holiday has ended?
If your order has not been placed with our vendor then we are happy to refund your money paid on sales tax holiday weekend. Therefore, there is no risk. Once you approve the order to be placed with our vendor, we will likely not be able to issue a refund as most of our products are special order.
