Everywhere I look in the design world, I see and I read about blue. There are so many hues of blue, but today I’d like to talk about just one; Maritime.
Schrock Cabinet company just introduced a new painted finish by the name of Maritime. It’s my absolute new favorite! It’s not exactly navy and it’s certainly a distant cousin to teal.
Next to shades of white, Maritime looks stormy and stoic, conjuring up the Cape on a November day. Next to complimenting light-tones, Maritime has quite a calming affect like green-blue waves in Spring while the sun shines. It’s one of those colors that is changed by the weather and the time of day. Maritime will introduce itself to you quite unassumingly, but be careful you may find you have met a new reliable friend. I’d recommend Maritime for someone who likes a casual elegance in their space. It will work wonderful as a stand alone piece, a kitchen island, or as an accent color in a blended design.
Here’s what Schrock has to say about their new color … “Deep blue becomes an exciting neutral when used with lighter, complementary colors. New Maritime is a dark, navy tone that works perfectly as an accent color, or to give a room a stylish focal point. It adds the perfect touch to a fresh and casual look, and is neutral enough to mix across multiple palettes. Available on Maple and with Amaretto Crème, Grey Stone or Toasted Almond glaze.”
